Την Κυριακή 15 Ιουνίου 2025, απονεμήθηκε το Silver Jubilee Medal στην Καθ. Έλια Ψυλλάκη της Σχολής Χημικών Μηχανικών και Μηχανικών Περιβάλλοντος.
Όπως αναφέρει η σχετική ανακοίνωση «η τελετή απονομής πραγματοποιήθηκε στην πόλη Μπρυζ (Bruges), Βέλγιο, στο πλαίσιο της εναρκτήριας εκδήλωσης του Διεθνές Συνεδρίου 53th International Symposium on High Performance Liquid Phase Separations and Related techniques, (HPLC25), που πραγματοποιήθηκε στις 15-19 Ιουvίου 2025. που διεξήχθη από τις 15 έως τις 19 Ιουνίου 2025.
Η Καθηγήτρια Ψυλλάκη ανακηρύχθηκε νικήτρια του Silver Jubilee Medal για το 2025 κατόπιν αξιολόγησης από διεθνή επιτροπή. Πρόκειται για την πρώτη φορά που η διάκριση αυτή απονέμεται σε καθηγητή ελληνικού πανεπιστημίου. Ανάμεσα στους προηγούμενους βραβευθέντες συγκαταλέγονται κορυφαίοι επιστήμονες διεθνούς κύρους στον τομέα των διαχωριστικών τεχνικών. Το Silver Jubilee Medal θεσμοθετήθηκε το 1982, με αφορμή την 25η επέτειο της Chromatographic Society, με στόχο την αναγνώριση ανερχόμενων επιστημόνων που έχουν συμβάλει ουσιαστικά στην πρόοδο της επιστήμης των διαχωρισμών.
Παράλληλα, η Καθηγήτρια Ψυλλάκη ήταν προσκεκλημένη κεντρική ομιλήτρια (keynote speaker) στο συνέδριο HPLC2025, με ομιλία με τίτλο:
«Green and Sustainable Analytical Chemistry: Myths, Truths and Opportunities».
Κατά τη διάρκεια του συνεδρίου, συμμετείχε επίσης:
στο Industry Leadership Track (κλειστές συναντήσεις με εκπροσώπους της βιομηχανίας),
στη δημόσια συζήτηση με τίτλο “Quo vadis HPLC?”,
καθώς και με εκπαιδευτική παρουσίαση (tutorial) με θέμα “How to quantify the greenness of your methods?”.
Η πολυδιάστατη παρουσία της στο συνέδριο αποτελεί μια ακόμη σημαντική αναγνώριση της διεθνούς εμβέλειας και επιρροής του επιστημονικού της έργου.
International Recognition for Professor Elia Psillakis – Awarded the Silver Jubilee Medal and Keynote Speaker at HPLC2025
On Sunday, June 15, 2025, Professor Elia Psillakis, of the School of Chemical and Environmental Engineering at the Technical University of Crete, was awarded the prestigious Silver Jubilee Medal by the Chromatographic Society. The award ceremony took place in Bruges, Belgium, during the opening session of the 53rd International Symposium on High Performance Liquid Phase Separations and Related Techniques (HPLC2025), held from June 15–19, 2025.
Professor Psillakis was selected as the 2025 recipient of the Silver Jubilee Medal following peer evaluation. This marks the first time the award has been presented to a professor from a Greek university. The list of previous recipients includes many of the most prominent scientists in the field of separation science.
The Silver Jubilee Medal, established in 1982 to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the Chromatographic Society, honors rising scientists who have made significant contributions to the field of separations science.
In addition to receiving the medal, Professor Psillakis was an invited keynote speaker at HPLC2025. Her keynote lecture, entitled
“Green and Sustainable Analytical Chemistry: Myths, Truths and Opportunities”,
addressed critical challenges and emerging directions in sustainable chemical analysis.
She also participated in the Industry Leadership Track (closed-door meetings with industrial stakeholders), contributed to the public roundtable discussion “Quo vadis HPLC?”, and delivered a tutorial session titled “How to quantify the greenness of your methods?”.
Her active involvement and recognition at HPLC2025 reflect the global impact and leadership of her scientific work.
